Bebot ready for his closeup!

Philadelphia festival season is upon us and this year won’t disappoint! With hundreds of open-air activities, beer gardens and foodie events on the docket, our tourism caretakers like VisitPhilly and DiscoverPHL are staying busy keeping track of it all. One particular entertainment installation is getting plenty of buzz. The Post Brothers are revitalizing a vacant lot next to the Piazza in Northern Liberties and turning it into a pop-up park called Piazza Pod Park. It’s located at the corner of N. 2nd St and Germantown Ave. A quick look and you can tell that some of the inspiration came from the Downtown Container Park in Las Vegas. The park will have plenty of kid & pet friendly activities and it can seat up to 300 people. There will be an climate controlled indoor space for those muggy summer days too! A special feature of the park includes #Bebot! Originally created by Andrea Greenless for the 2018 Burning Man festival, the 33-Foot tall, 13,000 lb sculpture has found a home in Philly. The sculpture is only the carrot, the food vendors are what you really want to check out. There are plenty of options that can satisfy even the most discerning foodie. The list of vendors include; Dim Sum House's Lil Sum Sum, Empanada Box, Spread Bagelry, Tiki Takos and plenty of others. We here at Oval Project Management have plenty of experience in placemaking developments like this one and we’re happy to have another in Philly! Take a look at the final preparations before the park opens in Early May 2019.
