Elevate your space, Elevate your business

When companies and organizations reach out to us, usually they’ve already made the decision to improve their space.  There are frequent times, however, when that is not the case and we’re tasked with helping them come to a conclusion about whether or not to make the investment.  We understand the financial concerns, but we’re often surprised about the dilemma because the benefits that come along with improving the workplace are undeniable. Investing in an office refresh or a complete renovation can have lasting benefits including attracting top talent, maximizing spatial efficiency, cultivating an engaging office culture, correlating your mission statement and brand with your physical environment and improving business performance and value.

Let’s begin with attracting and retaining, diverse and talented staff…

According to a Harvard Business Review study, “employees who have a choice in when, where and how they work, have higher levels of satisfaction, innovation and job performance.”  Now you don’t have to be Facebook and offer your staff various arrays of workplace options but there are small changes such as creating zones in your office for different types of work (collaboration vs. focused work) or even moving away from assigned seating.

Making physical improvements to the workplace will also improve the office culture. Again, you don’t have to back up the Brinks truck for this to be effective! It could be as simple as making a change in paint color in strategic places.  The point here is to take a step back, engage a third party (shameless plug) and begin the process of evaluating the current environment and getting options on how to make the workplace more conducive to the culture you want to reinforce.  Employees will notice the physical changes and recognize the company’s commitment of a supportive work culture.

Organizations that focus on fostering a culture where their people come first, and performance is rewarded have been wildly successful at attracting and keeping a happy and productive staff.

One improvement that we always recommend to clients is to bring plant life into the workplace. Besides being very affordable and non-disruptive (compared to other changes), it can be a very effective addition.  There are numerous studies that show the benefits which include improvements in productivity and stimulating creativity.  Plants also clean pollutants in the air and their presence reduces cortisol levels leading to a healthier environment both physical and psychological

These are just a few examples that lead to the conclusion that a happy, healthy staff will perform better.  Companies and organizations that are serious about increasing employee engagement, stimulating creativity, attracting & retaining top talent will make cultivating the work environment a priority. Are you serious about your staff’s well-being?  Let’s talk.
